What is a Personal Injury Claim?
A personal injury claim is a legal claim that is made by the person who was injured due to an accident or negligent act or fault of another. The injured party may be entitled to compensation (usually monetary) from the person whose negligent acts caused the injury and damages you sustained; also called "personal injury compensation". What is Personal Injury Compensation?
The idea behind any personal injury lawsuit is for the injured party to obtain just compensation for his or her injuries. If the court finds that the negligent or willful act of someone has caused physical or psychological damage to the injured party, personal injury compensation may be awarded. Personal injury compensation can take the form of compensatory damages and/or punitive damages.
